It is more than a cup of tea

In the early 12th century, during the Bagan era, King Alaung Sithu on his majestic royal tour to Namhsan, presented some tea seeds to the local palaungs (locals) in that area. Since then, the cultivation of tea in Myanmar has increased rapidly and flourished throughout the country. Maw Shan proudly supports the local communities near Pindaya in keeping the tradition of the tea harvest alive.
